WEEK 2....

Spring Fair:  1 and a half weeks to go!!  Preparations are well underway for this, and THANK YOU so much to people who have donated jolly jars for our stall. It's exciting to see the variety of types coming in!  If you can spare any time at all to make a Jolly Jar, it would really help us.

An interesting theme of jars that have come in are the New World "Little Shop" toys.... a great way to recycle those toys that are no longer the most important thing in the world!!!  (the Countdown Dominoes was also another suggestion passed on)
So, remember, you are only limited by your imagination....and Christmas is coming!

Does anyone have a family member who is talented with signage?  We would be requiring a sign saying "ROOM 8 JOLLY JARS".  It would need to be approx. 2 metres long by 50cm high. Any offers very gratefully accepted!

Thank you so very much to Jayarh's mum for the donation of a marquee and an hour of her time on Fair Day, as well as Karishma's brother , and Arizona's mum.
We still have a couple of gaps that need filling on our parent helper roster - please come and have a look on our class window to see if you may be able to help out, or email Mrs deJong to sort out a time...more people = less stress!!!

You can also pre order some AMAZING Indian food BEFORE the Fair....just print out the following form, fill in, pay....and ENJOY on the day!

Hello,

At our Spring Fair this year we will again be having Sajida’s stall of mixed cultural foods. This amazing parent will be taking pre-orders for Boneless Chicken Biryani with Rice and Boneless Lamb Curry with Rice. These can be picked up on the day of the fair without waiting in queue.

So if you don’t want to miss out on the day - please fill in the form below and return it and the money to Miss Walker in Room 25. She will then send a ticket to your class.

The last date and time for pre-orders will be Friday 23rd October 3pm.

WELCOME TO TERM 4!!!

Hi everyone! Term 4 is here already! We have got so much going on in Term 4; it's going to be a SUPER busy time...

Maths Homework:

Mrs de Jong has had a lot of excited Room 8 students coming up to her with news that they are having LOTS of success with learning their Basic Facts at home - GOOD ON YOU!!!! The first test round will be Friday 23rd October.

There are sure to be a LOT of people going up to the next level, with the amount of hard work that's being done at home.

YOU DESERVE THE SUCCESS YOU GET!

Topic:

This term we will be looking at Light -
a) in the scientific sense
b) in the cultural/traditional sense
c) and the light WITHIN US (what are our qualities that makes us "shine"?)

We're going to do a selection of very cool rotation activities in other classes in Week 2, and then choose an area of light we would like to learn more about, while shining our own special light within us...

Spring Fair:

October 31st 2015
11am – 3pm

Only 2 weeks to go!!!

We have started to receive donations of Jolly Jars for our stall -  THANK YOU!!!  It would be fantastic if we could receive so many that Mrs deJong will have to clear ANOTHER shelf of her cupboard to fit them in!!

Remember, you could make them with any sort of theme...  Halloween, Christmas, Boy/Girl, Craft, Sports, Babies, Weddings... use your imagination! (Google is a great help, too!)

We would very much appreciate any help we could get with manning our stall on the day...do you think you could spare an hour?
There is a chart up on the window in Room 8 with time slots on it - please feel free to pop in and put your name down...Thank you; it would help our day to run smoothly.
We are also on the lookout for a marquee/gazebo to run our stall from - would anybody be able to help out with this?  There must be some awesome family out there who wouldn't mind helping us out with one!
